Survivor Host Accidentally Delivers Spoiler on Live TV

Survivor host Jeff Probst made a live-TV blunder Wednesday night on the finale of the show's 50th season. As People reports, he revealed that one particular contestant had lost—before the taped segment aired. During the show, Probst was setting up the fire-making challenge, which determines the final three contestants. During the set-up, however, Probst explained that Rizo Velovic had lost and would thus become a juror, per the Hollywood Reporter. That led to some confusion on set as people began pointing out that the segment hadn't aired yet. "What just happened?" Probst asked, before the show cut to commercial.

When the show returned from break, Probst jokingly recast his blunder:

• "I love doing live television," he said. "In case you're confused, this is what happened. We were going to show you fire-making, and then have the loser of fire-making, Rizo, come out and talk about how charming he is, and if how he had practiced fire-making, maybe he would have won. Instead, we did a Survivor twist," he added, as the audience laughed. "It's the last twist of the season. We call it a peek into the future. So now, we're gonna watch Rizo lose in fire to Jonathan."
