President Trump isn't done railing against Stephen Colbert after the latter's Late Show came to a close this week. Late Friday, as Americans took in headlines of surging gas prices and the ongoing war in Iran, the commander in chief posted an AI-created video on his Truth Social account depicting him strolling onto the stage where Colbert is talking to his Late Show audience, picking up the late-night host by his collar, and hurling him into a nearby dumpster, reports the Hill. The fake Trump then breaks into dance to the tune of the Village People's "YMCA." The official White House account on X also shared the video, adding in the caption: "Bye-bye." It's not clear if Colbert will respond to the latest attack.

Roughly an hour after Stephen Colbert signed off the air on his final Late Show, President Trump weighed in to celebrate. "Colbert is finally finished at CBS," he wrote on Truth Social. He slammed Colbert as a "total jerk" who has "no talent, no ratings, no life," adding, "Thank goodness he's finally gone!" HuffPost notes that Colbert did not mention Trump by name in his final broadcast, though the president was a regular target during the show's run.
After CBS' parent company settled Trump's defamation suit over a 60 Minutes segment for $16 million last July, for example, Colbert ripped the payout on-air as a "big fat bribe," per USA Today. Days later, CBS said the Late Show would end after the 2025-26 season, prompting Trump to celebrate online that Colbert had been "fired." On Christmas Eve, Trump again went after Colbert on social media, calling him a "pathetic trainwreck" and saying CBS should "put him to sleep."
