Ariana Grande, Ethan Slater Quietly Part Ways: Source

Ariana Grande's relationship quietly wrapped months ago, according to sources who spoke to outlets including People. The magazine's source says the singer and actor Ethan Slater, who infamously got together while filming Wicked (and not long after their prior relationships ended), called it quits on their nearly three-year romance "several months" back after what was described as a thoughtful, mutual decision. The insider says the split was friendly, that the co-stars remain supportive of each other, and that Grande, 32, is currently focused on her Eternal Sunshine tour and the July 31 release of her album Petal. (Don't get too excited: Sources tell TMZ the album is not about Slater.)

Grande and Slater, 34, met while filming the first installation of Wicked, in which she plays Glinda and he plays Boq, and were first linked in July 2023. They both subsequently divorced their prior partners. They went public on Instagram in November 2024 and appeared together at multiple events promoting Wicked and its sequel, though Us Weekly notes they kept a fairly low public profile. The pair frequently praised each other's work, though—Slater once called Grande's performance in the sequel "out of this world," while Grande described him as "such an amazing person" in a 2024 interview. As recently as March, she was publicly cheering on his off-Broadway play Marcel on the Train.
