President Trump is signaling that Tuesday's assault on Iran might not be a one-off. Speaking Wednesday on the sidelines of a NATO summit in Ankara, Bloomberg reports that he said the US "hit them very hard last night" and would "probably hit them hard again tonight," adding he would give "a little warning" but was "not happy with them."

His comments came hours after US strikes on Iran and the revocation of a waiver that had allowed Tehran to sell oil abroad, actions Washington cast as a response to attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz that it blames on Iran. The latest moves threaten to unravel a ceasefire that Trump on Wednesday declared "over," and jeopardize ongoing talks aimed at a wider deal to end the conflict. The AP notes that those talks had been set to start after the end of the dayslong funeral of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
