Visitors to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool are now being told to keep their hands—and everything else—off the blue lining. Three more people—Cameron Thiers, Sophie Dennison-Gibby, and Justin Carreno—have each been charged with misdemeanor destruction of property after law enforcement from the US Park Police and partner agencies say officers saw them peeling off bits of blue sealant from the pool in June, reports CNN. Court documents say one officer watched Carreno pull up a piece from the water, while another found a fragment in Dennison-Gibby's pocketbook. Thiers, meanwhile, allegedly admitted taking a piece and "still had it in his hand" when confronted by an officer.

All three pleaded not guilty on Wednesday and were ordered to stay away from the site. Conviction could mean up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. WUSA 9 reports that the new defendants are all set to appear in court on successive dates in late August. The New York Times first reported on the latest charges. The new cases follow last week's indictment of former Olympic canoeist David Hearn, who faces a felony charge tied to more than $1,000 in alleged damage and up to 10 years in prison; Hearn has also pleaded not guilty. Officials started draining the Reflecting Pool last weekend, per Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, for repairs for the second time in three months, amid algae blooms, chipping, and unproven claims by President Trump that vandals "gashed" the lining, per CNN.
