'The Pigeon Came Up to Them Seeking Help'

Images of Oakland firefighters helping out a struggling pigeon seem to have charmed the internet. The odd moment took place after firefighters responded to a vehicle fire, reports the Oaklandside. When the fire was out, firefighters spotted a pigeon that appeared to be suffering from smoke inhalation. "The crew reported the pigeon came up to them seeking help," said Oakland Firefighters Local 55 union in a social media post. Firefighters then managed to give the bird oxygen via a tank and mask, and it flew off after the treatment. Video of the moment has racked up well over a million views as of Friday, per NBC Bay Area.
