Polish Man Sets a Bone-Chilling Record

It's among the frostiest of world records: Damian Kasprzyk of Poland spent 2 hours, 12 minutes, and 12 seconds in full-body contact with snow in Szlachtowa on Feb. 21, earning a Guinness World Records honor for men in the category, the organization announced on Thursday (see video here). Kasprzyk, 41, is no stranger to the cold: He already holds the men's record for longest full-body contact with ice at just over five hours.

Kasprzyk says he got his start via winter swimming and ice baths, and credits fellow Polish record-setter Valerjan Romanovski (who spent 58 minutes submerged in ice water) with coaching him. As for his why, "I do this out of pure curiosity and a desire to push the boundaries of human capability, rather than just for the sake of holding records."
