Trump Makes Good on His Profane Threat to Iran

President Trump made good on a profane threat on Wednesday, with US Central Command announcing on X that attacks against Iran resumed at 8pm ET. NBC News reports the move came after President Trump on Wednesday morning told Fox News chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst the US would "beat the f---ing s--- out of" Iran following new attempted attacks on US troops in the Middle East. He more publicly told reporters from the Oval Office: "We're going to be hitting them very hard, because it's our turn to hit them. They know it's coming."

US Central Command framed the strikes as retaliation for what has been called an intercepted "attempted surprise attack" by Iran on Tuesday, including missiles launched at a US base in Jordan and strikes on oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz. The strikes come after "a lull of several days in direct US attacks on targets in Iran," reports the Guardian.
