Former NFL Star, 49, Has Parkinson's

Ahman Green has gone public with a private fight. The Green Bay Packers' all-time rushing leader revealed on the "Go Long with Tyler Dunne" podcast that he was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease in January 2025, reports ESPN. The 49-year-old said the diagnosis came after he was dealing for a while with symptoms such as his feet twitching in his sleep. But "I knew something was going on long before that," he added, describing his short-term memory as "trash."

Green, who had previously shared the news only with family and close friends, said he now wants to be "up front" with his condition, particularly among former football players. (A study in JAMA previously suggested that long-term play could be a risk factor.) The Athletic notes that Brett Favre, another former Packer, disclosed his own Parkinson's diagnosis in 2024. Green said he's following medical treatment while overhauling his diet. "I got the reins," he said. "I'm in control. I'm not going to let this control me."
