Cristiano Ronaldo Is a Married Man

Cristiano Ronaldo has a new title to go with all those trophies: husband, the BBC reports. The 41-year-old soccer star quietly married longtime partner Georgina Rodríguez, 32, in a civil ceremony in Cascais, near Lisbon, on Tuesday, according to Portuguese media, which dubbed it the "wedding of the year." Ronaldo marked the moment with an Instagram photo of two hands stacked together, both wearing wedding bands; the post drew more than 3 million likes in under half an hour.

"The ceremony was a private and intimate moment attended by their five children," reads a press release cited by People. (Rumors that Ronaldo would be married over the weekend resulted in huge crowds at another couple's wedding, ESPN reports.) The couple, together for a decade after meeting at a Gucci store in Madrid where Rodríguez worked, got engaged on Aug. 11 last year, when Rodríguez posted a photo of a sizable ring and wrote in Spanish, "Yes I do. In this and in all my lives." Their children include a 16-year-old from Ronaldo's previous relationship, twin 9-year-olds, an 8-year-old, and a 4-year-old. The couple also had a baby boy, their 4-year-old's twin, who died as a newborn.
