The danger didn't come from a suspect or a gun in Huntsville, Missouri—it came from a second-story deck. Bodycam video obtained by NBC News shows a wooden balcony collapsing under a federal task force as they approached the apartment of 26-year-old convicted sex offender Jacob Alexander Munoz on July 21, sending nine officers crashing to the ground.
Five members of the team, made up of US marshals and Randolph County sheriff's deputies, were hospitalized with broken bones, muscle tears, and concussions, but all avoided life-threatening injuries. Supervisors say no weapons accidentally fired during the fall, which they credit to training and discipline. The team had been serving warrants as part of "Operation Adam's Watch," targeting sex offenders who failed to register their addresses. Munoz was not home at the time but later turned himself in.
