Finally, USS Lincoln Will Pull Over

After more than 250 straight days at sea, a US aircraft carrier is finally getting a breather in Thailand. As Reuters reports, a Thai official said the USS Abraham Lincoln, carrying about 5,000 sailors and Marines, will dock next week for "rest and recreation after their long sea journey," following an extended deployment that included a detour to the Middle East to support US operations in the war with Iran. Thailand's Navy confirmed that a US carrier strike group will make a brief stop in eastern Thailand for rest and resupply only, with "no exercises taking place," and called it a "routine port visit."

The Thai Navy did not specify the port or arrival date, notes the AP, citing security concerns. The stop comes after Navy Times and Stars and Stripes reported suicide attempts and falling morale on the Lincoln, coverage Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said "completely misrepresented" conditions aboard.
