A Maui police officer is facing multiple sex-assault charges tied to a woman's solo car crash, and prosecutors think other victims may be out there, reports the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. A grand jury has indicted 49-year-old officer Devin Anthony Schoeppner on four counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree sexual assault following a May 2025 incident in which he allegedly raped the driver and forced her to perform oral sex, authorities say.
"We believe there are individuals who had interactions with Mr. Schoeppner or know someone who did," said Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Martin, per Hawaii News Now. "We ask anyone who may have information to please contact us." Schoeppner, a 12-year veteran of the Maui Police Department, was first arrested in May 2025, placed on paid leave, and arrested again Monday after the indictment.
