Hayden Panettiere may have died after taking a single counterfeit oxycodone pill believed to be tainted with fentanyl, according to multiple law enforcement sources cited by TMZ. The actor reportedly had a "long time drug dealer" in Los Angeles who provided her with black-market prescription drugs, including oxycodone, and she allegedly took several pills during a flight from LA to South Carolina the day before her death. Authorities think she swallowed the suspected fentanyl-laced pill on the morning she died. The DEA in Los Angeles and South Carolina is now working to trace that pill back to her dealer, in a probe reminiscent of the case against Mac Miller's supplier. Toxicology results are still pending, and officials say their theory could change once those findings come in.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly reports that Panettiere's on-again, off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson and his brother, Zach Hickerson, were detained Saturday night in South Carolina after a bar fight at a Wild Wing Cafe. As Greenville Police Department officers cuff him, video shows him shouting, "GPD leaked it when my girlfriend died." Brian Hickerson was released without charge, while his brother was charged with disorderly conduct, reports USA Today. Both brothers were present at the apartment complex when Panettiere died on Aug. 16.
