Demographers have circled a date—2060—for when the US is expected to have no single ethnic majority, and WalletHub says one state is already leading the way. The personal finance site ranks California as the nation's most diverse state after comparing all 50 across six areas, from race and ethnicity to language, education, and industry. The numbers back it up: Only about half of Californians speak only English at home, with large shares speaking Spanish and Asian or Pacific Island languages.
