Patrick Clancy has given his first interview since his ex-wife's trial in the 2023 killings of their three children ended in a mistrial—with his new wife by his side. In an interview to air Sunday at 7pm ET on 60 Minutes, Dr. Rachel Danis says the internet has their story wrong. As the Boston Herald reports, some on social media went after Clancy during the trial, criticizing him for remarrying and even accusing him of being behind his children's deaths. "I don't understand how the story's been so twisted," Danis says, "but I would hope people know that Pat is, as I said before, the most selfless father and supportive partner."
The two married in April after meeting in New York City, which she describes: "I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that." CBS News reports that in the segment, Patrick Clancy discusses grief, mental health, and those social media conspiracy theories, and describes how he still talks to his late children. "What do you say?" Ross Douthat asks him. "Help me. All the time," Clancy replies. "Do they help you?" Douthat then asks. Clancy answers: "I like to believe they do. It's a way I stay connected to them."
