Jonathan Taylor Thomas Accused of Kicking Cop

Jonathan Taylor Thomas is back in the headlines, but not for a TV comeback. The Home Improvement actor, 45, was arrested early Monday in the Los Angeles area, accused of kicking a cop after a vehicle he was riding in was stopped during a DUI investigation, according to the LA County Sheriff's Department. Deputies say they initially approached a car sitting through a green light and found a driver who appeared impaired, per NBC News.

Thomas, a passenger, kept getting out of the car and approaching deputies during field sobriety tests, "distracting them from their investigation," the department says, per KABC. When they tried to detain him for obstruction and public intoxication, the former child star allegedly kicked one deputy in the stomach. Both he and the driver were arrested and booked; Thomas was released Tuesday afternoon. His reps did not immediately comment. Prosecutors will decide on potential charges.
