A Florida tourism board is hiring three people to take a 10-day beach "business trip" that comes with a $10,000 paycheck. Visit St. Pete-Clearwater is creating an "SPC-Suite" of temporary gigs—chief vibes officer, chief flavor explorer, and chief sunset curator—meant to showcase the region's nightlife, food scene, and Gulf sunsets, reports Travel + Leisure. Winners get flights, lodging, VIP experiences, and a mandate to eat, drink, explore, and post about it. "It may sound like a vacation, but there's real work to do," says VSPC CEO Brian Lowack. "Getting to know our destination means experiencing it day in and day out, following what interests and surprises you, and sharing those discoveries with others."
The chief vibes officer will chase nightlife and live music from dive bars to rooftop lounges, while the chief flavor explorer will document the area's high-end restaurants, seafood spots, and local favorites. The chief sunset curator, meanwhile, will scout for local color in everything from murals and museums to those evening Gulf of Mexico views. Applicants must be 21 or over, available between Nov. 6 and Nov. 22 of this year, and be able to submit an online application and video interview by Oct. 22. A hiring committee will judge entries on authenticity, creativity, social media presence, and content chops—and the "executives" may be invited to keep promoting the area afterward.
