A 28-year-old fisherman in Oregon man owes his rescue to first responders, but Siri gets credit for a crucial assist. As KPTV reports, Joe Little was alone on the Hammond Marina jetty near Astoria on Saturday when a large rock he routinely sat on shifted. "He put his feet down to stop it, but the boulder was huge, and he slipped down and it just went over him," his grandmother tells the outlet. Little found himself trapped by the rock—below the high-tide line.

Fortunately, his Bluetooth earbuds stayed connected, allowing him to tell his phone to dial 911. Police and fire crews were able to zero in on his location by honking their horns and having Little tell the dispatcher if he could hear them. Rather than attempting to move the massive boulder, rescuers cleared smaller rocks beneath him to slide him free. A Coast Guard helicopter then lifted him to the hospital, where he is recuperating from facial injuries that include a broken jaw. "It's a miracle my son's alive," mom Mindy Little tells KOIN.
