The investigation into reported threats to Katie Miller, a podcaster who's married to White House adviser Stephen Miller, has resulted in an arrest, the Washington Post reports. Federal prosecutors on Thursday charged 41-year-old John Anthony Proia III of Waltham, Massachusetts, with cyberstalking, accusing him of contacting Miller more than 40 times over two months, often late at night and from shifting phone numbers. Authorities siad he also sent crude, threatening texts to her parents, once asking, "Did you raise her to be trash or did that just happen naturally?" and referring to Stephen Miller as a "Jewish Nazi/white supremacist."

The Justice Department contends the messages caused "real fear and harm." Proia was arrested by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force and was due in federal court Thursday; his legal representation is unclear. The investigation has contributed to upheaval in the FBI's Washington field office, the AP reports, where two top counterterrorism supervisors were recently reassigned in part because of dissatisfaction over their handling of and approach to the case. The Millers relocated last year to secure military housing, saying they had safety concerns.
