President Trump made a personal policy shift on Saturday when he voted in person in Florida. He and first lady Melania Trump cast their ballots at the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections office, where he's registered, CBS News reports. The visit marked a change for Trump, who has said he prefers voting on Election Day and has repeatedly criticized extensive mail-in voting, even though he has used mail ballots in past elections.
Saturday was Florida's first day of early voting, which runs through Oct. 31. Trump, who sported an "I Voted" sticker, told reporters he checked the names only of Republicans, per the AP. On other election issues, the president again defended an attack ad being run by Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, as well as his decision to have the Justice Department file a lawsuit to block certification of the Senate election in Alaska if Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan loses a close race.
