Suspect in Lindsey Buckingham Attack Is a Known Stalker: Cops

The woman accused of attacking former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham in California has been arrested some 2,000 miles away in Indiana. Michelle Dick, 55, nabbed Saturday at a hotel in Fort Wayne, has been charged with stalking, vandalism, battery, and criminal threats, after authorities say she found out the time and place of an appointment Buckingham was to attend in Santa Monica, then showed up and threw an unknown substance at the rocker, who was uninjured. Police say Dick is a known stalker of Buckingham, who was previously granted a restraining order against her, per the Los Angeles Times. She now faces extradition, per NBC News.

Lindsey Buckingham's latest headline has nothing to do with music. Law enforcement sources tell NBC4 the former Fleetwood Mac guitarist was attacked Tuesday in Santa Monica by a woman who was known to Buckingham from prior incidents. Investigators say the 76-year-old arrived for an appointment when the woman allegedly threw an unknown substance at him and fled. Buckingham was not hurt.

Authorities say they believe the suspect learned the time and place of his appointment and then went there; she has been identified but not yet arrested, though law enforcement sources expect that to happen soon. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, known for hits like "Go Your Own Way," was a key member of Fleetwood Mac until he was booted from the group in 2018.
