Dodgers demolish Cubs after capitalizing on record-tying number of errors

A Cubs defensive collapse in the 5-run second inning helped the Dodgers to a 10-3 win in Game 2 of their NL series, the Chicago Tribune reports. Sloppy infielding behind Carlo Zambrano tied the division series record for errors. The Cubs—who have never won a playoff game west of Chicago—now head to Los Angeles two games down.

"I don't think you can win 97 ballgames playing that way," Cubs manager Lou Piniella said. "That wasn't good baseball. In fact, the last two games were probably the two worst games we played all year, from a walking and errors standpoint. It wasn't fun to watch, I can tell you that."
