Newly released body-cam footage is shedding new light on Tiger Woods' DUI arrest in South Florida—including a roadside conversation the star golfer had with "the president." Deputies were called to a rollover crash Friday along South Beach Road on Jupiter Island, where authorities say Woods' Land Rover tipped onto its side after he crossed double yellow lines to pass a truck towing a trailer and struck the trailer's rear fender, per WESH and WPTV. "I looked down at my phone and all the sudden, boom," Woods says in one clip, per WTVJ. Video also shows Woods undergoing a field sobriety test, being placed in handcuffs, and appearing to hiccup in the back of a sheriff's office vehicle.
At one point at the crash site, a deputy approached Woods and asked him to "hang out down here with us," per People. Video shows Woods walking toward the deputy while saying into his cellphone, "Thank you so much, alright, you got it, thanks." When the deputy repeats the request to stay near, Woods answers: "Yeah, I was just talking to the president. Trying to get away from everybody." He didn't use the president's name.
