An icy royal relationship appeared to have thawed enough Friday for Britain's King Charles and Queen Camilla to have had Prince Harry, Meghan, and their children over to the house. Buckingham Palace said a meeting that included Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, took place at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, the BBC reports. The palace stressed it was a "private family occasion" and said no photos would be released, per the AP.

The visit marked Charles' first in-person time with his grandchildren in more than four years and the couple's first joint trip to the UK since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in 2022. Harry had arrived Monday in his homeland after traveling from California for a number of charity events, a visit that involved a difference of opinion about whether he could stay in Buckingham Palace. On Friday, the palace offered no details on where the family is staying but did say Harry's wife and children would not appear at his public events.
