Sarah Ferguson's Charity Is Gone for Good

Sarah Ferguson's short-lived charity has shut its doors for good. Sarah's Trust, founded in 2020 and focused on humanitarian and environmental causes, has been officially removed from the UK charities register, reports the BBC. The move comes after the organization announced in February it would temporarily close as the former Duchess of York—who was once married to the former Prince Andrew—got ensnared herself in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

The February closure came after newly unsealed US Justice Department documents showed that Ferguson exchanged emails with Epstein while he was jailed in 2009, calling him "the brother I have always wished for." As People noted at the time, Ferguson asked Epstein's advice about promoting a children's charity while he was imprisoned for soliciting sex from a minor. Ferguson's team has not commented on the closure; several charities had already cut ties with her over the Epstein connection.
