Influencer's Rise From Honor Student to King of 'Looksmaxxing'

Miami New Times profiles Braden 'Clavicular' Peters and his livestreaming empire

The Miami New Times is dropping readers into a "streamer-first" Miami Beach nightclub to chart how 20-year-old Braden "Clavicular" Peters has turned a pandemic-era fixation with his own face into one of the internet's strangest ascents. Reporter Alex DeLuca follows Peters from obscure New Jersey honor-roll kid and steroid-curious teen to the self-styled "looksmaxxing" guru whose brand now stretches from facial surgeries reportedly livestreamed with celebrity surgeon Dr. Miami, to nights out with fellow influencers Nick Fuentes, a white nationalist, and Andrew Tate, who's currently facing legal woes along with his brother, Tristan. Along the way on his journey have come allegations of sexual assault, a filmed shooting of an apparently dead alligator, an overdose that was livestreamed, and a Cybertruck incident that played out live for fans.

The piece also zeroes in on the business machinery around him, including a short-lived co-ownership in a "streamer-friendly" club that's now at the center of a legal dispute, and the growing role of elusive 27-year-old manager Nathaniel "Nate" Kest as Peters' gatekeeper—all while OnlyFans creators become fixtures in his content and, possibly, his revenue model. Former allies worry he's vulnerable to exploitation, while Peters insists he's just "ascending." "Clav is being misled," says Mitchell Jackson, Peters' occasional publicist. "And I think Clav, given his history of drug problems, is in a very dangerous position to be taken advantage of, whether that's by Nate or someone else." An attorney for Peters, meanwhile, denies that his client is running an OnlyFans agency. Read the full piece here.
