Tony Romo Gone From CBS 'Until Further Notice'

Tony Romo won't be calling games for CBS "until further notice" as fallout continues from his recent arrest in Wisconsin. The network confirmed on Friday that the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and lead NFL analyst is on leave, though it didn't clarify whether the move was his decision or the company's, per NBC News. Romo was stopped July 23 going south on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee and arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated after deputies said he struggled with field sobriety tests, according to bodycam footage and sheriff's records out of Milwaukee County.

Romo declined a breath test at the scene and was booked on a single OWI count before being released. A Romo representative couldn't be reached on Friday. The 46-year-old has a court hearing set for Sept. 21, the same week that CBS will be airing its second week of early-season NFL matchups, though the New York Times notes he's not required to appear in person. The AP reports that former Houston Texans star JJ Watt will join the CBS analyst team while Romo's out.
