Stephen Colbert's daughter is exiting one of TV's most storied news programs as it weathers major internal turbulence. Madeleine Carlisle, 30, has resigned as an associate producer at CBS' 60 Minutes, per Oliver Darcy's Status newsletter. Carlisle, who uses her middle name professionally, first joined CBS News as an intern in 2017 and returned to 60 Minutes in 2022 after reporting stints at the Atlantic and Time. Status notes that Carlisle is well regarded at the show, and that she may not be alone in looking for the exit door as other staffers are "actively exploring options."

Her departure lands amid a wave of turnover at the show, notes TV Insider. Multiple veteran producers and correspondents were recently fired by CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, prompting on-air journalist Scott Pelley to criticize her leadership before he, too, was dismissed. Weiss continues to install a new team, including executive producer Nick Bilton, whose lack of TV news experience has drawn scrutiny.
