Wall Street is getting out its biggest checkbook yet for artificial intelligence—and Nvidia is holding the pen, the Financial Times reports. The chipmaker says it has lined up memorandums of understanding with six major financial players—Blackstone, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, Apollo Global, KKR, and Brookfield—to marshal more than $500 billion in outside funding for AI infrastructure projects over time. Per Bloomberg, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says he only approached those six companies about the deal, and all said yes.

The firms plan to set up dedicated capital pools to finance data centers, power projects, and other hardware-heavy "AI factory" build-outs that rely on Nvidia's technology, potentially at favorable borrowing terms for Nvidia's customers. The move marks a deeper tie-up between Nvidia and private capital giants that have already been backing big-ticket AI infrastructure deals for companies like Anthropic, Meta, and Intel. Nvidia, whose chips power most leading US AI models, has seen its market value soar since late 2022—but its stock slipped nearly 3% Monday after news of the arrangement, amid ongoing questions about how far the sector's complex, sometimes circular financing structures can stretch. However, Yahoo Finance reports the stock rebounded in the overnight session. (Michael Burry has a warning about the current AI boom.)
