Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has a suggestion for where to build the next AI hub, and it takes on President Trump's criticism of communities with a NIMBY attitude: right next to Mar-a-Lago. As the Hill reports, the New York Democrat on Monday mocked Trump's warning that communities resisting AI data centers will end up "backwards and poor," saying, "Let's put a data center up in Mar-a-Lago, we'll see how backwards and poor he is in response to that."

Trump has cast AI infrastructure as key to economic growth and beating China, arguing towns that welcome data centers will be "successful and rich." But resistance is bipartisan: a Fox News poll found 70% of respondents wouldn't want an AI data center nearby, and Palm Beach County recently rejected a proposed facility not far from Mar-a-Lago. GOP Rep. Tim Burchett, who opposes such projects in communities, replied, "I guess I'm backwards and poor."
