South Park is taking a page from the president's handbook. Ahead of the animated series' 29th season, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone on Tuesday announced the show will now be called South America. "Following their Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program, South Park is making a big change," the X post reads. It then offers this from Parker and Stone: "Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA. We especially want to thank our parent company Paramount—a Skydance Capitulation."
Variety notes the name change follows a season that lampooned Trump and his team, including depictions of Trump as Satan's lover and Vice President JD Vance as Tattoo from Fantasy Island. Season 29 debuts Sept. 16 on Comedy Central.
