President Trump on Tuesday doubled down on his push for artificial intelligence—or super intelligence, as he now calls it—by unveiling an official government chatbot. The tool, a revamped America.gov, is an AI assistant pitched as a one-stop "concierge" for navigating public services, from job listings to UFO files, with plans to eventually handle tasks like Medicare sign-ups and passport renewals, reports the Washington Post. The launch came as Trump hosts a day-long event featuring industry leaders at the White House. "We do not surrender to fears about what technologies will do to us," Trump said. "We decide that those technologies will do for us some very, very incredible things."

Anthropic's Dario Amodei, Nvidia's Jensen Huang, Meta's Mark Zuckerberg, and Google's Sundar Pichai are slated to huddle with Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson, who says he's seeking "balance" between US tech dominance and safety. While some AI leaders call for slowing development, Trump has downplayed safety fears as overblown. The AP, meanwhile, tested the new chatbot with some dicey questions, including whether Trump or Joe Biden won the 2020 election. "Official federal sources do not show that widespread fraud changed the 2020 presidential election outcome," it responded. "Isolated election crimes did occur and have been prosecuted."
