The 56-year-old is no longer at the facility, per NBC News. The golfer's reps did not provide further details on his stay, including the nature of his addiction. Mickelson has previously spoken of battling a gambling addiction. The disclosure follows a rough stretch for the six-time major winner, who in April announced he was stepping away from golf for an "extended period" because of an unspecified family health issue. Around the same time, multiple reports emerged alleging sexual misconduct against different women, including one at his longtime golf club. Mickelson, who has refuted those allegations, is married with three children. Read These Next Netherlands confirms a 1-year-old was euthanized.
