Lady Gaga's makeup line just hit pause after a beauty influencer said its new bronzer launch left dark-skinned customers out. In a May video, Golloria George tested Haus Labs' Sun Dipped Bronzing Veil and said even the three deepest shades missed the mark, urging the brand to "do better," per USA Today. Haus Labs later asked her to pull the review over an embargo issue, a move the company now calls "unkind."
On Thursday, Gaga issued an apology via Haus Labs, admitting it was a mistake to release only six shades and to pressure George to delete the video. The brand says it halted the launch and returned to the lab to expand the range. The singer also later wrote, per People: "We will work hard to make sure it never happens again. Personally, I will see to it." George welcomed the response but framed her criticism as part of a broader push against colorism in beauty, saying she's determined to challenge exclusion wherever her voice reaches. "I can expose the gap, demand the correction, and push the standard forward," she noted.
