Tamed Edouard Hits Texas Coast

Tropical Storm Edouard hit the Texas Gulf coast east of Galveston today with strong winds and heavy rain, but did little more than soak the travelers who came to relax on the tourist town's beaches. Surfers were spotted riding the waves as the storm swept in. The National Hurricane Center says the storm is weakening as it heads inland, though it still boasts sustained winds of 60mph to 65mph.

"We are just out here enjoying it, trying to feel that good breeze that's coming in," said one tourist, who said he hoped the storm passed quickly so he could get some fishing in.
