President Trump picked a very public fight with some of his onetime media allies on Thursday, unloading on conservative commentators who've broken with him over the war in Iran. In a sprawling 482-word Truth Social post, the president branded Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones "stupid people" and "NUT JOBS," and claimed they all share "Low IQs" because they oppose his Iran policy, CNN reports.
- "I know why Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones have all been fighting me for years, especially by the fact that they think it is wonderful for Iran, the Number One State Sponsor of Terror, to have a Nuclear Weapon — Because they have one thing in common, Low IQs," Trump wrote. "They're stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too!"
- "They've all been thrown off Television, lost their Shows, and aren't even invited on TV because nobody cares about them, they're NUT JOBS, TROUBLEMAKERS, and will say anything necessary for some 'free' and cheap publicity," Trump wrote.
- Trump said MAGA "just gave CNN a 100% Approval Rating of 'TRUMP,' not Hand Flailing Fools like Tucker Carlson, who couldn't even finish College, he was a broken man when he got fired from Fox, and he's never been the same — Perhaps he should see a good psychiatrist!"
- He slammed Kelly for tough questioning during a 2015 GOP debate and knocked Owens over her promotion of an online conspiracy theory about Brigitte Macron. She "accuses the Highly Respected First Lady of France of being a man, when she is not, and will hopefully win lots of money in the ongoing lawsuit," Trump wrote. "Actually, to me, the First Lady of France is a far more beautiful woman than Candace, in fact, it's not even close!"
- Next, Trump slammed "Bankrupt Alex Jones, who says some of the dumbest things, and lost his entire fortune, as he should have, for his horrendous attack on the families of the Sandy Hook shooting victims, ridiculously claiming it was a hoax."
- "These so-called 'pundits' are LOSERS, and they always will be!" Trump wrote. "As President, I could get them on my side anytime I want to, but when they call, I don't return their calls because I'm too busy on World and Country Affairs."
The four commentators, who have all backed Trump in the past and, in the cases of Carlson and Kelly, campaigned for him in 2024, have recently criticized his handling of the Iran war, especially his Tuesday threat that "a whole civilization will die tonight."
- On her podcast Wednesday, Kelly said, "I don't know about you, but I am sick of this s---," per the Hill. "Can't he just behave like a normal human?" she said. "You don't threaten to wipe out an entire civilization. We're talking about civilians, just casually in a social media post." The Independent reports that the former Fox host doubled down on the criticism in an interview with Piers Morgan on Wednesday, saying Trump was too "gullible" to see through the lies told by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and had " allowed himself to be pushed into this insane conflict."
