Corey Feldman's cross-country flight ended in a hospital bed. The 54-year-old Stand by Me and Goonies actor suffered an undisclosed medical emergency en route to Los Angeles on Monday and was met by paramedics after landing at LAX, his publicist told USA Today. Feldman was admitted to a hospital and is reportedly under observation while awaiting MRI results. TMZ quotes a source as saying he may be suffering from pancreatitis or gallstones.
The actor had been in the Midwest for appearances tied to the 40th anniversary of Stand by Me, including a Sunday event at the Chicago Theatre with former co-stars Jerry O'Connell and Wil Wheaton. In a March interview, he described the cast's enduring bond while noting the absences of River Phoenix, who died in 1993, and director Rob Reiner, who was killed along with his wife in December. "I was so hoping that he would be able to join us for this," Feldman told People. In a Sunday post, he noted this was the last weekend of shows for the brief reunion tour, though there was "a chance of more."
