A hike in Canada's bear country turned into a tense standoff for one woman and her dog, and the whole thing was caught on video. The clip, posted to Instagram by someone claiming to be a friend of the woman, shows a grizzly repeatedly approaching, circling, and briefly charging the pair as the woman yells and grunts loudly in an attempt to drive it off, per TMZ. At one point, the bear rears up on its hind legs just a few feet away, looming over them before finally retreating.

A guide tells CBS 8 San Diego that the woman, IDed only as Jessie, had gone out for a hike with her dog, coffee in hand. No one was injured in the incident—which NDTV reports took place in Alberta, near the Mount Engadine Lodge—but the encounter prompted a warning in the Instagram post's caption urging people to carry bear spray when traveling in grizzly habitat.
