Mexican fans are taking home-field advantage in the World Cup to another level. Videos on social media show throngs of supporters making as much noise as possible Monday night outside the Mexico City hotel where Ecuador's team is staying in a bid to disrupt their sleep, reports the Irish Sun. The crowd gathered after midnight, per News18, deploying car horns, trumpets, chants, songs, and even drum sets. (See videos of the chaos.) A number of Ecuador players could be seen looking out their windows at the commotion. The two teams play Tuesday night in the 32-team knockout round.
