Philippine police are moving ahead in a case that has engulfed Meghan Markle's estranged father. Authorities in Cebu have secured a court warrant to inspect computers, phones, hard drives, and videotapes turned over by Meghan's half brother, Thomas Markle Jr., from Thomas Markle Sr.'s former home in the Philippines, per the BBC. Earlier this month, it was reported that "hundreds of images of child sexual abuse" had been found at the residence. Police say they now must determine how the alleged material was obtained before weighing criminal charges. Markle Sr., 82, now in a Florida rehab facility after a leg amputation, has rejected his son's accusations as "sick lies."

Page Six reports that another one of his daughters, Samantha, has accused Thomas Jr. of making the whole thing up for "revenge." Cebu's regional prosecutor, meanwhile, says Thomas Jr. is insistent the case be pursued, per the BBC. Meghan, who hasn't spoken to her father since 2018, confirmed she was alerted to concerns in 2019 and said she doesn't allow him contact with her two young kids, adding that her thoughts are with any children who may have been hurt. Fox News reports that Buckingham Palace was said to have been "blindsided" by the allegations against Meghan's father, and that no one should expect Prince William to weigh in. "This is not his fight," commentator Kinsey Schofield tells the outlet. "This is a matter for the Sussex household."
