Behind closed doors with 32 NATO leaders, however, Trump dropped the grievances and struck a conciliatory note, telling them "we want to remain with you," according to attendees.
He later described the gathering as full of "love" and offered to let Ukraine manufacture Patriot air defense missiles. At a meandering press conference that veered well beyond NATO, he praised Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and boasted about the US economy and being "No. 1 on TikTok."
