Paul Pelosi's Driving Record Is Pretty Dicey

After police said the 86-year-old husband of Nancy Pelosi sideswiped a parked car earlier this month and kept on driving, the New York Times took an in-depth look at Paul Pelosi's driving record. The results aren't too flattering. Court records reviewed by the newspaper show at least eight traffic violations in the Bay Area over more than a decade, including speeding, running red lights, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, and a 2022 DUI crash near the couple's Napa home.

But perhaps more damning is that four longtime associates, speaking anonymously, chalked up the latest crash to "age and infirmity" and said it only amplified their existing concerns about his driving, per the Times. Those concerns have risen since Paul Pelosi suffered a hammer attack by a home intruder in 2022, which has left lingering symptoms including severe headaches. His lawyer and Nancy Pelosi's office declined to comment. The latest crash was serious enough that Napa County prosecutors are weighing possible charges.
