Don Lemon says the question isn't if he's thought about the White House—it's how seriously. According to Mediaite, the former CNN anchor told the Can't Be Censored podcast on Wednesday that he is "seriously" weighing a 2028 presidential bid after being repeatedly urged to run, adding, "I might … I'm being totally serious."
Lemon, now an independent journalist with his own YouTube and podcast show, said he looks at the emerging field and finds "some" potential contenders impressive, but "many ... most" are not. Pointing to President Trump's rise, he noted that modern politics no longer seems to demand deep experience and argued Trump "could have done a better job if he actually listened to people." As for what would push him into the race, Lemon said it would take clear public demand and, ideally, a campaign that doesn't rely on "begging for money." He did not outline specific policies or a timeline for making a decision. The 60-year-old was among 39 anti-ICE protesters arrested and charged after a protest at a Minnesota church service in January, the New York Post reports.
