Max Miller Demands Ethics Investigation—of Himself

Max Miller isn't just rebuffing pressure to drop out of his congressional reelection race, he's calling for the House ethics panel to investigate him. The Ohio Republican on Tuesday announced he will formally ask the House Ethics Committee to scrutinize domestic violence accusations made by his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, who says he injured her and their 2-year-old daughter. Miller has adamantly denied it. "I have absolutely nothing to hide," Miller wrote on X, adding he'll turn over documents for a detailed review and is "looking forward" to colleagues examining the case.

Miller, first elected in 2022, has said he will stay in his reelection race despite mounting pressure from within his own party. That includes his former father-in-law, Sen. Bernie Moreno of Ohio, who has called Miller unfit for office and in need of psychological help. Miller is a big supporter of President Trump, who has not publicly weighed in on whether Miller should leave the House. But the president reportedly called Miller this week and told him the situation didn't look good.
