Secret Service Is 'Aware' of Iran Threat on Barron Trump

Iranian state TV has broadcast a video that appears to solicit ideas for killing Barron Trump, and the Secret Service says it's taking a hard look. The roughly three-minute clip, aired by state-run IRIB, opens in English with the line "Where to kill Barron Trump?!" and uses stylized graphics to highlight places the 20-year-old is publicly known to frequent, including Trump Tower in New York. A narrator later references people "eagerly waiting to receive our $10 million reward." The "Secret Service is aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees," a Secret Service rep said in a statement, per the AP. "Out of concern for operational security, we do not discuss matters of protective intelligence."

A federal law enforcement source told CNN the video is part of a broader series from Iran targeting President Trump and his family, sometimes including movement details and proposed methods of attack. Hardline Iranian outlets have repeatedly featured threats against Trump since the assassination of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in February, and the US has for years warned Tehran might seek revenge for the 2020 killing of Gen. Qasem Soleimani.
