President Trump visits Ireland next week, and the trip is already making headlines over his choice of transportation. A White House official says the president will use the Boeing 747 given to him by Qatar for the trip—his first international flight on the jet since a July security scare in Turkey forced a covert swap to another plane, reports the Washington Post. The aircraft lacked some of the hardened defenses built into the traditional Air Force One fleet, and it's not clear if promised upgrades have been completed, per the New York Times.
As for the two-day trip itself, Trump will attend the Irish Open, being held at his Doonbeg golf course, and he will also meet with Irish President Catherine Connolly and Prime Minister Micheál Martin, according to the BBC. The outlet notes that Connolly called Trump a "bully" during last year's Irish presidential campaign. "Have I a trust problem with America? I think every person in the country has a trust problem with America," she said.
