Airport security in Seattle recently made a "claw-some" catch, the TSA reports in a post. TSA officers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport say X-ray images revealed a metal contraption with three claw-like blades, prompting a bag search that turned up a set of "mutant blades" that "resembled a mix between Wolverine-style claws and Freddy Krueger blades, a sharp reminder that some accessories are better suited for movie screens than airplane cabins."

The passenger surrendered the claws at the checkpoint. Supervisory officer Ann Rhoades calls the find one of the oddest items she's seen in seven years. When TSA Officer Dennis Oishi "asked the passenger if there was anything sharp in the bag, he said he wasn't sure," Rhoads says. "Obviously, there was." CBS News notes sharp objects are permitted in checked baggage as long as they are "sheathed or securely wrapped to prevent injury to baggage handlers and inspectors," per TSA guidelines.
