Sources tell the BBC that the duchess wrote to Thomas Markle last year, saying both she and authorities were aware of allegations against him and that she would not contact him again. He denies all of the allegations. Per Page Six, the letter was sent after Thomas Markle's hospitalization for blood clots; at the time, some criticized Meghan Markle for not visiting him. The accusations stem from images of suspected child sexual abuse allegedly found in Markle's former home in the Philippines, according to reports and his son, Thomas Markle Jr, who says he alerted police and the FBI. Philippine officials confirm an investigation is underway and say Markle's computer has been seized for forensic analysis. Meghan, estranged from her father since 2018, called the allegations "disturbing" and said her priority is protecting her children. The Sun reports she became aware of the allegations against her father in 2019, but was told not to speak out about them for fear of jeopardizing the investigation.
