Netflix has ordered 13 episodes of a remake of the Norman Lear series, this time starring around a Cuban-American family, Deadline reports. The multi-camera show will focus on an ex-military, recently separated mom raising a teen daughter and tween son with the help of her mom—and, yes, a building manager named Schneider. Sources say Rita Moreno, who possesses an Oscar, an Emmy, a Tony, and a Grammy, will play the "old school" Cuban-born grandma. The original series, which ran from 1975 to 1984, starred Bonnie Franklin as a divorced mom raising two daughters, played by Valerie Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips. Lear will produce the series, per the Hollywood Reporter. No word on a premiere date. Read These Next It's not just deer getting caught in the headlights anymore.
